NRG Oncology Seeks Candidates for Theranostics Subcommittee Chair and Vice Chair

August 06 2024

NRG Oncology seeks two dynamic individuals who will bring outstanding leadership skills, a collaborative team science spirit, and theranostics expertise to a vibrant and highly motivated national Cooperative Group network by joining us as Theranostics Subcommittee Chair and Vice Chair. The Theranostics Subcommittee is a product of collaborative efforts between the Radiation Oncology and Imaging Committees.

The Theranostics Subcommittee Chair and Vice Chair act within the mission and vision of NRG Oncology to provide support to the development and conduct of trials that include application of theranostics. The Theranostics Subcommittee chair and vice chair promote 5 primary goals:

  1. build a more robust theranostics program in NRG Oncology’s research portfolio,
  2. serve as a resource for NRG Oncology investigators,
  3. collaborate with the Center for Innovation in Radiation Oncology (CIRO) and Imaging and Radiation Oncology Core (IROC) of the National Clinical Trials Network (NCTN) to help establish the quality assurance standard for clinical trials involving theranostics,
  4. engage NRG disease site leaders to form a strategy for theranostics development and incorporation into future NRG oncology clinical trials,
  5. collaborate with other NCTN cooperative groups for clinical trial participation.

The NRG Oncology Theranostics Subcommittee Chair and Vice Chair will work closely with leadership of the Radiation Oncology and Imaging Committees to achieve these goals.

We are looking for candidates with nationally recognized expertise in theranostics. Candidates must be at an NRG Oncology Member Institution and eligible to receive federal funding. Nominal funds from federal grants to offset related effort and travel to NRG Oncology meetings is provided.

Individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who are underrepresented in medicine, are highly encouraged to consider this opportunity.

To apply, please submit an NIH biosketch and a one-page vision statement to committee-nominations@nrgoncology.org. Interested individuals should indicate on top of the one-page statement if they wish to be considered for the chair position, the vice chair position or both positions. The deadline for the application submission is September 11, 2024. If you have questions about the position, forward those to the same email and we will have an appropriate party get back to you.
