We are excited to announce Dr. Eric Polley will be taking on a larger role with the NRG Oncology Statistics and Data Management Center (SDMC). Dr. Polley is the Director of the Biostatistics Laboratory and Associate Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Chicago, as well as the faculty director for the Data Science concentration in the Master of Public Health Program. Previously, Dr. Polley held positions as an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics in the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences at Mayo Clinic and a mathematical statistician in the Biometric Research Branch at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). With his research area covering the development and evaluation of prediction methods, innovative methods for diagnostic and prognostic prediction, and precision medicine clinical trial design, Dr. Polley’s support to the SDMC will focus on computer-intensive methods, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and high-dimensional modeling applied to NRG Oncology data. Given the rapid growth in requests to engage in or provide data for projects involving these advanced computational/statistical methods, we are thrilled to have Dr. Polley on board the SDMC Statistics Division team!
