Updated Message from NRG Oncology Leadership on COVID-19

December 15 2020

NRG Oncology Members,

As we near the end of 2020, we reflect on this unexpected year and give thanks to our research partners. We wanted to spotlight the significant contributions made by our sites and researchers, even in the midst of a world-wide pandemic.

Some highlights to note from 2020 include:

  • NRG Oncology will open 12 new clinical trials by the end of 2020.
  • NRG Members have accrued 2,063 patients since January 1, 2020.
  • Our members quickly adapted solutions to safety support clinical research during the pandemic, such as blood draw clinics for research patients, telemedicine, and remote consent.
  • NRG Oncology had 49 presented abstracts and 66 published manuscripts so far this year.
  • The NRG Summer 2020 Virtual Meeting had record attendance, including 836 attendees noted as first time attendees.

As we continue to navigate and adhere to the continuing changes and conditions in this pandemic, please be sure to visit our COVID-19 webpage that hosts up-to-date guidance documents for trial conduct, NRG member site changes through operations that affect biospecimen banking, protocol deviations, audits, patient reported outcomes, and more, and information for patients.

There is no question that we continue to face challenges unlike any we’ve faced in our history, but it is clear that together we will weather these storms and remain united in our mission.

We wish you happy, safe, and healthy holiday season and we look forward to seeing you at the NRG Oncology Virtual Semiannual Meeting this January 2021.

Sincerely,

NRG Oncology Leadership
