Patient Reported Outcomes – Compliance Improvement Semi-Annual Recognition

January 14 2025

The Patient Centered Outcomes Research Committee (PCOR), and NRG NCORP Committee congratulates the over 500 sites participating in NRG clinical trials who achieved 90% or greater compliance for Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) assessments. PROs are vital components of NRG studies that directly reflect the patient’s voice and their quality of life!

PRO Compliance is determined as the percentage of expected PROs that a site collects. This compliance report was designed to reflect only those assessments that sites could have been expected to collect during the 24-month period, January 2023 - December 2024. Neurocognitive Function (NCF) assessments will be added to the reports in 2025. Beginning in 2025, PRO Compliance Reports will be provided to sites biannually, in June and December.

The PCOR committee is also pleased to announce that in early 2025, a PRO Education eLearning Module will be launched that will provide sites with electronic on-demand access to training. The eLearning will be available through CLASS on CTSU.

Resources for collecting Patient Reported Outcomes and Neurocognitive function assessments are available on the NRG Oncology public home page, Data Management Resources section https://www.nrgoncology.org/About-Us/Statistics-and-Data-Management-Center-SDMC-/Data-Management-Resources

We would like to thank the investigators and personnel at the sites who, as a team, follow the protocol requirements, monitor study calendars and requirements to ensure data is submitted as required, and if not, to contact patients personally as needed, and those who ensure that protocol participants have the correct tools downloaded to their devices.

We appreciate your contributions that help to assure PRO data is collected in a timely manner. Please know that NRG’s persistence in contacting sites is contributing to significant improvement in study outcomes. Finally, please reach out to the PRO Compliance Officers, Kandie Dempsey or Marcie Ritter, who are providing oversight for this initiative if assistance is needed. We cannot do this without you! Thank you!
