Translational Science Committee

Purpose
The purpose of the NRG Translational Science Committee is to provide translational science expertise to NRG Oncology. This includes: 1) educational programs to bring cutting edge technologies to the group; 2) careful review and approval of translational projects in the group; and 3) supporting and guiding the development of funded projects and grants to support translational research.

The research priorities of this committee include: the creation of an educational session at each NRG Meeting, the review and development of translational research in protocols by organ specific translational research subcommittees, and the development of BIQSFP, moonshot, SPORE, and Navigator projects.

Our goal for the Translational Science Committee is to provide expertise as NRG Oncology pursues the goals of: Improving Lives Through Research: NRG Oncology focuses on conducting clinical trials that lead to better practices in cancer treatment; Focus on Specific Cancers: Their research concentrates on cancers affecting women's health (gynecologic), breast cancer, and prostate cancer, along with localized or early-stage cancers of various types; and, Broadening Knowledge: They aim to disseminate their research findings widely to inform healthcare decisions and policies.
