Investigator & Career Development (ICD) Committee

Purpose

The Investigator & Career Development (ICD) Committee is dedicated to fostering investigator growth and engagement within NRG. The committee provides mentorship, education, and opportunities to support the advancement of investigators, ensuring access to resources and professional development within NRG. Through its subcommittees, the ICD Committee facilitates mentorship for early-career investigators and promotes broader investigator participation in leadership, research, and clinical trial development.

The committee will:

  • Support investigator development by identifying opportunities for engagement within NRG committees and protocol teams.
  • Oversee structured mentorship programs that equip investigators with the knowledge and guidance necessary for successful contributions to NRG research.
  • Ensure accessibility to leadership opportunities and research roles by providing information, training, and structured support mechanisms.
  • Assess and track investigator participation and progress to continuously refine and improve engagement strategies.
  • Develop training and educational resources that support investigators in protocol development, statistical considerations, and translational research integration.

The ICD Committee is responsible for guiding the work of its two subcommittees:

  • Early Career Mentorship Subcommittee – Focused on mentorship and education for early-career investigators.
  • Investigator Development Subcommittee – Focused on facilitating access and engagement opportunities for investigators at all career levels.

ICD Committee Members meet at each NRG semiannual meeting.
