NRG-CC005 at the NRG Summer Meeting
The NRG Summer Meeting was held in-person in Chicago on July 21-23, 2022 (July 18-25 virtually), where the FORTE study was presented by NRG Oncology staff and study leadership. At the Protocol Support Committee (PSC) Continuing Education Session on Thursday, FORTE patient-directed materials were discussed in detail to highlight the ways site staff can use them both in enrollment efforts and to maintain contact with study participants between follow-up timepoints. In particular, the patient letter is a useful tool to reach out to potentially eligible participants as part of screening efforts at a site.
The FORTE Workshop was held on Friday, where Study Chair, Dr. Robert Schoen, reviewed why the FORTE trial is a national priority. Additional topics discussed included establishing partnerships with gastroenterology practices to enroll patients (Dr. Jeffrey Dueker, Protocol Co-Chair), how FORTE operates at Metro-MN Community Oncology Research Consortium (Jodi Geer, Senior Cancer Control Specialist at Metro-Minnesota Community Oncology Research Consortium), social media activity (Cheryl Leow, FORTE Education and Communication Specialist), and data management (Izabela Frak, FORTE Data Manager). The team also answered questions about NRG-CC005 after the presentations. Watch the FORTE Workshop recording to review these topics and more.
We encourage site staff to reach out to forte@nrgoncology.org with suggestions on materials NRG staff can create to assist you with participant enrollment and retention.
